Children’s Liturgy

In order to help our children below school year 3 to understand the ‘Liturgy of the Word’ Children’s Liturgy groups are held during some Sunday Masses. After the Introduction the children are invited to leave the Church with several leaders and work on the Gospel for the given Sunday at their own level. The children return to Church at the Offertory Processions.

The time is quite limited so the leaders have a basic structure to follow. They read, discuss and possibly act out the Gospel, pray for their various needs and conclude with an activity, which may be a worksheet or picture.

St Joseph’s

Children’s Liturgy takes place at the 10.30am Mass each Sunday, in school term time, for children up to Year 6. The leaders work on a rota basis taking a three week block of Sundays.
