Laudato Si
Laudato Si

During July there is a global initiative challenging us to reduce single use plastic for an enitre month . There are many ways we can do this – carrying our own reusable bags to buy loose veg and fruit, using refillable bottles for water instead of buying plastic bottles. Switch to soap bar instead of liquid soap in bottles. Shampoo bars too are now widely available.

Preparing for your Funeral
Preparing for your Funeral

‘The subject of death can be a taboo subject in our secular society. But in the light of our Catholic faith it is one we should have the confidence to face. Completing this document will make it so much easier for your family or friends to make the arrangements for your Funeral at what will be a sad and difficult time for them. More importantly, if your family are not Catholics, or have lapsed from the practice of the faith, or where there is not family around to ensure that your wishes will be followed, it ensures that you will receive what is your right as a member of the Catholic Church’. (Cardinal Vincent Nichols). Instructions for my Funeral Mass forms are available at the back of our 3 churches or call the Parish Office who can post out.

June Month of the Sacred Heart
June Month of the Sacred Heart

June is traditionally a month during which communities and individuals are consecrated or renew their consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Litanies of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

During the month of June, litanies of the Sacred Heart are often recited and have been encouraged. It is a moving way to express devotion to Our Lord by making reparation through adoration for the offenses committed against His Sacred Heart. It is often prayed during First Friday services.

Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, approved for the whole Church in 1891, which is evidently biblical in character and to which many indulgences have been attached Aliae concessiones

Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

As we begin our time of prayer, we release our cares and anything else that would hinder us from experiencing more of you in this Mass today. We focus our hearts and minds on you. Lord, you are worthy of our praise. Forgive us for having our minds set on other things and not giving you the honour you deserve. We gather together to lift up the name of your son Jesus, the name that is above every name. All glory belongs to you.
