TRAINING EVENT – CHILD PROTECTION AND WORKING WITH ADULTS AT RISK

Julie Minal, the Diocese Safeguarding Training Officer, will be holding this event on Saturday 11th May at 10:00am–4:00pm in St. Joseph’s Parish Room.  This is to receive updated training in relation to safeguarding matters with content being tailored to your roles in ministry.

This is in accordance with the National Safeguarding Standards training which must be completed every 2 years. There will be a mid-morning tea break and lunch at 12:30pm; please bring a packed lunch.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINARS

A gentle reminder – Starting on Monday 15th April at 7:30pm (Tea/Coffee from 7:00pm) just for an hour in St Joseph’s Parish Room. The seminars are a series of 7 sessions aimed at renewing our faith and our understanding of the Holy Spirit and His gifts. Everyone is welcome, even if you have attended these before. If you have questions, or to find out more, come along to the introductory evening on Monday 8th April at 7:30pm (Tea/Coffee from 7:00pm) in St Joseph’s Parish Room.

St Joseph’s Parish Room will be open for coffee/tea, cake and a chat on Wednesday 10th April and on every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

Drop in any time between 9:30am-11:30am.

This is a chance to enjoy a cup of coffee and meet up with others. Everyone is welcome!

The Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Fort Hommet, Vazon, (Perry’s Guide 13 E1 ) will be open every Tuesday & Saturday from 2:00pm-4:00pm April to October 2024.

Fr Anthony Fyk Director of Liturgy is delighted to announce that he is organising two training days in 2024 – one for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and one for Readers.

These will be held at St Bede’s Church and Hall in Basingstoke as follows:

Day for EMHC – Saturday 4th May

Day for Readers – Saturday 19th October

Both days will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm and will include some light refreshments.

Portsmouth Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2024 on the 22nd July for 4 nights £859pp sharing.

The pilgrimage always includes the key Lourdes experiences. There include Torchlight and Blessed Sacrament processions, International Mass, walking in the footsteps of St Bernadette, visit the Grotto, stations of the cross and responding to Our Lady’s call to bathe in the spring waters.

Furthermore, we take a trip into the mountains, taking in the Hautes-Pyrenees culture and for the brave, a mountain hike!

An email will be sent to all participants to confirm the time and date for their training.
