Laudato Si
Laudato Si

The Season of Creation’s origin – In 1989 Ecumenical Patriarch Dimitros proclaimed September 1st as the Orthodox Day of Prayer for Creation. Subsequently ‘The World Council of Churches’ extended the celebration until October 4th, the feast day of St Francis of Assisi. Since then ‘The season of Creation’ has been held annually when we celebrate our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion and commitment together. During the ‘Season of Creation’ we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home. This year the chosen theme is “Let Justice and Peace Flow” calls us to creation care and justice for famers worldwide.

Education Sunday - 10th Sept
Education Sunday – 10th Sept

Education Sunday is marked this year on 10th September. The theme for 2023 is “The armour of light”, taken from Ephesians 1:17-18. We pray that God will fortify those working to make our schools places of learning and sanctuary – not just teachers and leaders but all the support staff whose tireless work sometimes goes unnoticed. We pray for all our primary and secondary pupils – particularly school leavers who have had such a difficult journey in recent times – not to mention students in higher education and vocational training.
