This Lent, the children of Notre Dame du Rosaire and St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary Schools have been reflecting on the importance of water through their learning about John the Baptist. As they explored how water is a sign of new life, cleansing and belonging in our faith, the children were struck by the reality that many families around the world do not have access to clean, safe water. In response, both schools have chosen to support The Eleanor Foundation, a Guernsey-based charity which provides clean water and supports school communities in Tanzania.

As part of our Lenten journey of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, the children will take part in a sponsored “Walking for Water” event at the end of term. This reflects the daily journeys many children must make simply to collect water for their families. We would be very grateful for the support of our parish community.
