In Holy Communion we receive back the gifts we presented, now transformed by the Holy Spirit into the Body and Blood of Christ. When we receive the Eucharist, not only does Jesus come to live in us, but he remodels us into people more and more like himself. We become what we receive – the Body of Christ. Our minds and hearts are transformed so that we think, love and speak like Jesus: forgiving those who have hurt us, caring for those who are ill, doing all we can to help the poor, the homeless, the hungry, refugees, all those in need.
