Remembrance Concert on the 11th November starting at 2:30pm at St Saviour’s Church. This is with the ever popular Guernsey Welsh Male Voice Choir. The programme will be tailored around Remembrance and the church, as usual, will be filled with loads of Poppies. Tea and cake in the interval and retiring collection. Refreshments are being made by choir members and their wives/partners. Ravenscroft, as our sponsors, will also be involved funding some of the refreshment side, for which we are immensely grateful. In the side chapel, (as well as, of course, the fabulous Cenotaph made by the Sunday School out of Lego) there will be a display retelling the sinking of HMS Charybdis and HMS Limbourne in 1943. Details of that operation and the funeral on 17th November 1943 at the Foulon Cemetery of 19 ratings will be on display. This is the 80th anniversary of the event.
