Reception of Holy Communion

Reception of Holy Communion

  • Reception of Holy Communion while wearing a mask
  • Please space yourselves out while walking in procession to receive Communion.
  • Make an Act of Reverence before receiving Holy Communion (Genuflect or bow).
  • While wearing your mask, reply to the words, “The body of Christ”.
  • Lower your Mask, and with outstretched arms make a throne with your hands to receive Our Lord.
  • Step to one side to reverently receive Our Blessed Lord and then replace your mask.
  • We shouldn’t be walking about the Church consuming Our Lord “On the go.”
  • OR if receiving in the mouth, please make it as easy as possible for the priest to place the Body of Christ on your tongue. (The Priest may re-sanitise his hands)
  • Please don’t feel pressurised by the person behind you to hurry up. This is a most intimate moment for each of us.
  • We return to our places to make our Act of Thanksgiving.
