We are seeking practicing and committed Catholics to serve on the School Committees of our Catholic Voluntary Schools as Foundation Managers. Foundation Managers are specifically appointed by the Bishop for this vital ministry: to ensure the preservation and development of the school’s Catholic character, to ensure the school is being conducted as a Catholic school and to represent the Bishop’s education policy to the School Com. The duties include: Attending meetings of the School Committee (once a term). Becoming a visible and supportive part of the school community. Being an advocate for our maintained Catholic schools in the wider community. Maintained Catholic schools in Guernsey do not have governing bodies as in England but the role is very similar to that of a Foundation Governor in the rest of the Diocese.
