Laudato Si – Care for Gods Creation

Sunday 24th – Pray together at Midday – ‘Laudato si’

Sunday is the 5th anniversary of Pope Francis’ ground breaking letter ‘Laudato si’ (tr. ‘Praise be…’) on ‘Care for our common home’. He calls us to pray, reflect, and take action, and are reminded that ‘Everything is connected”. Our faith informs us that all creation belongs to God and is only on loan to humans, who are called to care for it – at the very least by reducing the harm we are causing, not only for the sake of our children, but for all of creation.

“Our clear call as human beings is to renew the harmony between ourselves, our Creator and our world. We call on Catholics to lead by example. Care for the Earth must become our purpose, and vocation.’ (Bishops Conference of Australia)

Numerous resources are available to inform our faith and provide practical suggestions about what each of us can do e.g.  https://www.ourcommonhome.co.uk/) or (https://cafod.org.uk/Campaign/Climate/Climate-change-FAQs) etc.

Our parish ‘Laudato si Group’ are meeting again on-line this Wednesday 27th May at 6.30pm.
