From the Parish Priest

The gradual easing of our lock-down has been such a welcome event in the life of our Island. It has meant that we have been able to open the church and allow people to come for private prayer. It also means that we shall be able to hear Confessions once again and there will be places for Confession in both side chapels of St Joseph’s available when the church opens at – 12 Noon. You may notice when you enter the church that it has been “deep cleaned” so that we can have a beautifully cleaned church to begin our new life after the lock-down. Perhaps there is also a spiritual message for us too here? I suggest that this might be a good time for us all the have a “Deep Clean” of our souls by coming to Confession. Many of you will have re-discovered the joys of bonding more deeply in family life. Why not use the opportunity of going to Confession as a Family event? I am sure that following Confession there will be a wonderful opportunity to continue the celebration by being together for with a walk along the seafront or in the countryside… who knows perhaps an ice-cream! You will be pleased to know that the other two churches in our Parish will be being deep cleaned this week in readiness for opening within the not too distant future. Fr Bruce
