Laudato Si’ Week honors the fifth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical on care for our common home. (The World & Environment)
The theme of the week is “everything is connected.”
Following Pope Francis’ call, Catholics everywhere are invited to pray, reflect and prepare for action during this ‘Laudato si Week’ of 16th-24t May.
There are many ways you can participate during these days of isolation – through private prayer, accessing the various on-line ‘Care for Our Common Home’ resources (https://www.ourcommonhome.co.uk/), listen to Pope Francis’ invitation (https://laudatosiweek.org/), visit websites such as CAFOD’s for other climate resources (https://cafod.org.uk/Campaign/Climate/Climate-change-FAQs) etc.
Mindful we are in the month of Mary a ‘Rosary for the Anniversary of Laudato si’ guide, which includes reflection on creation is available on the newsletter or website. This could be prayed or simply the reflections used each day by the whole family – perhaps outside in the fresh air absorbing the wonders of creation all around.
Additionally, Catholics around the world are encouraged to be united in prayer for creation next Sunday 24th May – at midday in Guernsey. We cannot be together in church yet but we can be united globally in common prayer.
