ST JOSEPH & ST MARY CHURCH ‘SAVE OUR ORGAN’ APPEAL

YOUR PARISH SCHOLA NEEDS YOU!

ST JOSEPH & ST MARY CHURCH ‘SAVE OUR ORGAN’ APPEAL

As a Schola, our aim is to enhance devotion at Mass, particularly on important days in our Church calendar. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful Musical Director, Luke O’Donnell, whose dedication and skill make this happen. In addition, we have one of the best organs on the island, which was generously donated by our forebears.

Albeit regular maintenance has been made since its installation, the engineer has encountered several defects with the organ, primarily with its complex wiring system. Luke’s skill has disguised these problems up until now, however in the long term, the condition of the organ will deteriorate only further and make it unplayable. An overhaul is now urgently required.

In a nutshell, we need to raise £15,000 to cover the total cost of repair and to safeguard a very valuable asset – our LITURGICAL music.

All donations can be made to the Parish Office, CLEARLY MARKED “FOR THE ORGAN FUND”. Or perhaps you are able to help us fundraise, even come along and sing with us (new recruits always welcome!)

We are planning to stage a number of FUNDRAISING EVENTS OVER THE SUMMER months e.g. a Schola Concert, Open Gardens, Musical evenings, Cake, Plant & Book sale.
