CAFOD Lent Boxes should be brought to Mass on Holy Thursday and form part of the Presentation of the Gifts.
The Collection at both of the Good Friday Services will be for the upkeep of the Holy Places in the Holy Land. This Good Friday we would like to raise up to the Crucified Christ the cry of peace for Jerusalem, but also for the whole world, that beginning in the land of Jesus, it may become a City of Peace. The burdensome situation of social upheaval, and indeed open war, has worsened upsetting the fragile balance in the region and pouring out on Lebanon and Jordan a river of refugees which overflows the increasingly inadequate camps set up to welcome them. Thanks to the Good Friday collection, the various Catholic communities of the Holy Land will receive a contribution with which to stay close to the poor and suffering without distinction of creed or ethnicity.
Collections taken at the Easter Vigil and on Easter Sunday are for the personal use of the Priests of the Parish. Envelopes for this are available today.
