Following the success of last year’s  ‘Glamour, Gossip and God’ Retreat Father PJ will be leading another retreat for Women.

This Mass is not only for Catholics married to Catholics but for all married couples in our diocesan community celebrating one of these anniversaries.

Soprano Natalya Romaniw, 23 year old 2009 Cardiff Singer of the World finalist.

Tickets £10, senior citizens £7. Music students free.

A weekend of worship, bible teaching and ministry not to be missed.  Their vision is for hundreds of people from across the islands to praise and  worship Jesus, hear God’s word and seek to be challenged, changed and equipped by the power of the Holy spirit. Guest speakers include Kenny Borthwick and Mark Stibbe from the New Wine network who will lead meetings and hold seminars over the weekend. There is also an exciting programme for children and teens with worship and teaching as well as games, using the facilities at Baubigny Schools. A weekend not to be missed!

A busy month to end the term.  I look forward to seeing many of you at these events.

What’s happening in March

Science and Engineering week runs from 12th-21st March. This year’s theme is ‘Earth’. Pupils will be creating posters and entering them into the British Science Association competition. We will also be holding a house quiz with science questions from the British Science Association.

New Football Kit

We are very fortunate to have a new football strip, kindly sponsored by Checkers. The girls’ wore it for the first time last week.

Student Success

Our Yr9 Football team played a great match against Ladies’ College and won 1-0 with Aisling Norman scoring the winning goal.

Ella McClymont, Yr 11, has been starring as Prospero in the Guernsey Youth Theatre production of ‘The Tempest’.

The Inter House Speech and Drama competition, just before Half Term, was kindly judged by Mr George Foote and won by St. Agnes.

The Junior Choir came second in their class at the Eisteddfod.

PTA Events

Class Representative:

The PTA need your help – We still require parent representatives from Years 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10 and Sixth Form. Anyone who is interested please complete the form or leave a note in the Senior Office.  It’s a lot of
fun!

Blanchelande’s Got Talent – 23rd March:

The final is to be held on Tuesday March 23rd at 7pm. Tickets are priced at £2.50 for Adults and £1.50 for Students. Booking forms are available to download from the school website in the PTA area. Please return completed forms by Monday 15th March.

Car Boot Sale:

Saturday 22nd May 2-4pm on the Blanchelande Field.

Why not have a spring sort out and bring your unwanted items along to the Car Boot Sale.  It is only £5 a car on a ‘first come’ basis. Refreshments will be also be available on the day.

Funding:

Using funds from recent events the PTA are going to purchase 40 modern fiction books for the Sixth Form, 5 data projectors for the Senior School and a projector for the Main Hall.  Many thanks to all of you who have helped us raise these funds to benefit the school.

Bishop Crispian invites you to join him on our diocesan pilgrimage from Friday 20th to Friday 27th August 2010.

Travel by Euro-Star (via Paris), Coach or Plane (from Stansted) direct to Lourdes. The overall leader of the pilgrimage this year will be Bishop Peter Doyle (Northampton).

(We can’t sell alcohol on school premises, but please feel free to bring your own!)

Starts 7.30pm with Ploughman’s Supper (first question 7.50pm)

11.30am preceding the 12 noon Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea;

Fridays:

7.00pm in St Joseph’s
(except on 26th March);

Saturdays:

5.00pm before the 5.30pm Mass at Notre Dame.

Refreshments will be served after Benediction.
