The gift of groups and nationalities

Our Parish is Celebrating the unity of gifts, talents and services within our parish on SATURDAY 26h MAY.

MASS starts at 6.30pm followed by celebration in the HALL. Food will be provided and pre- pared by people of varying Nationalities.

A Soiree Musicale is the recital to be given by

Caroline Kay-Mouat Soprano and accompanied by Anthony Tennant at Notre Dame Church on the 25th May starting at 7.30pm The programme willincludemusicfromHandel, Richard Strauss, Poulenc, Rachmaninov, Gretchaninov, Rimsky-Korsacov, Puccini, Gounod and Porter to name but a few. This recital was given in part in Bath at The Holburne Museum last week to critical acclaim. The Russian repertoire was particularly well received which showed the linguist in Caroline. All songs are performed in the original language and contrast delightfully

with each other. This Soiree Musicale is free on entry with a

Christian Aid Week

13th – 19th May 2012 Can you help with house to house collection in the St Joseph’s, Note Dame or Delancey areas? People are needed who can deliver and collect gift envelopes during Christian Aid Week. Last year Guernsey collected more than £43,000 which helped save lives and assist others to build their lives. Churches Together in Guernsey

Friday 6th April 2012

The walk will start at St Stephen’s Church, Les Gravées, at 11am, and conclude at the Town Church at around 12:30pm.

Anyone may join at any point on on the route as follows:

St. Joseph’s, Cordier Hill;
St. Andrew’s in the Grange;
Spurgeon Baptist Church, Clifton;
Friends Meeting House, Clifton;
Salvation Army Hall, Clifton;
Eldad Elim Church, Union Street;
Notre Dame du Rosaire, Burnt Lane;
Car park in Back Lane;
Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Square;
The Town Church.

The walk will be in silence and at each stop there will be a sentence of Scripture, a short reading, silence and a prayer. A cross will be carried as an act of witness. All are welcome.

The Cygnet trip was fantastic – thank you!

The Cygnet trip to the ‘Flame’ Catholic youth event at Wembley last Saturday was brilliant! Being at an event with 8,000 + other young Catholics was a fantastic experience and the whole day was really inspiring.

The leaders job was made easy by the fact that we have such a lovely group of young people and they really are a credit to our parish.

A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who donated money to make this trip possible, and also, very importantly, to everyone who gave us ‘prayer support’ before and during the weekend.

Cygnet will give a short presentation about the trip, over tea/coffee, for anyone in the parish who is interested. Everyone is welcome! This will be on Tuesday 24th April, 7.30pm in St Joseph’s Hall.
